Fire&Flames VS Black Emperor
MMU Field
KickOff 1800
F&F will play their second match today in 4 days for the semi final stage against Black Emperor. This match has been tipped to be an interesting one because both teams are thought to be at the same level of quality wise.
This will be F&F's two consecutive semi finals in two seasons and their first meeting against the Black Emperor in a competitive tournament. Black Emperor has been winning through penalty shoot outs on the road to the semi final. They defeated Phlamze and Sepang-yol with both winning penalties converted by their top goal scorer, Fauzan "Makan Tanah" who played for F&F last season. This season he has been played as support striker and has scored 3 goals so far.
Another star player, Syah "Senoi" was a Kayu FC & Dettol FC player is an experienced player who is dangerous in taking set pieces and crosses from the right flank. For both of them, today will be playing against familiar faces as they had played together as a team through out the previous years.
Nabeelja Vidic is back in the squad whereas Andy "Bedak" is set to miss this match after being called up to the Indian national team in Sarawak. There are no casualty from the previous match against Spirulina, and Samir Aie set to field the fab 5 midfields whom had terrories Spirulina's defends.

Match Report : First Half Raid
It was Monday blues for everyone including the referee and his linesmen. Amer Tevez had to be the linesman for the 1st half in his formal attire. It was rumored that he wore the same attire during MMU Awards Night and even stayed in the hall till yesterday.
After the announcement of starting line up by skipper Samir Aie, F&F players offered Al-Fatihah to Nabeelja's late grandfather who past away in the afternoon. We extend our utmost condolences to his family.
Andy "Bedak" finally made his debut and took Nabeelja's position along side Ferdinadeem with Eski Raul on the left back and Samir Aie on the right flank.
Player/Manager Samir Aie told his boys that he wants to win the match in the 1st half and the team responded well by demonstrating silky passes and movements. F&F again scored an early goal after Samir Aie combined his fast running and skill to dribble past Spirulina's left back and crossed the ball to the far post which found unmarked Abby, who had time to stop the ball with his left foot and tapped the ball home with his right foot.
Zul K "Takut Lipas", Hamka "Beng-ho" and Sohaib Karembeu combined well and controlled the match at the middle of the park with their neat touches and killer passes to the wingers. F&F nearly doubled their lead when Samir Aie's free kick found Ferdinadeem sneaking at the far post but his header unfortunately hit the post instead.
Zul K "Takut Lipas"'s vision and Hamka "Beng-ho"'s off the ball run resulted a second goal for F&F. As the Spirulina's defenders were busy marking Abby and Zul Rossi, Zul K pounded upon the opportunity to slide a pass through to marauding Hamka "Beng-ho". Hamka did justice to the splendid pass by cheekily chipping the ball over the helpless goalkeeper.
Ferdinadeem again missed the chance to score his first goal of the season when F&F was given their 1st corner kick of the game. Ferdinadeem fooled his marker for the second time by sneaking at the far post and volleyed the perfect cross by Hamka into the sky.
F&F was totally a different team in the 2nd half. Spirulina introduced their playmakers Syahir "Pisang" and Nenek. Syahir "Pisang" particularly has changed the flow for Spirulina by holding the ball and unleashing decent passes which disrupted F&F's defence. Samir Aie swiftly tinkered the tactics by changing Zul Rossi to defensive midfield and Zul K to striker.
It seems all of the F&F's attackers too tired to defend but Ferdinadeem and co had no problem keeping the Spirulina's strikers quiet. As usual F&F's penalty appeal was turned down by the referee when Eski Raul changed to the left flank and tried to dribble past the defender and the ball struck his hand. Minutes later, F&F had two chances to score, first with Samir Aie's free kick which found Nadom Onouha who chested the ball for subtitute, Boynaldo to volley straight to the goalie. The second was from Sohaib Karembeu who fired his thunderous shot but it was slightly over the bar.
The game as a whole was played on different tempos between both halves. In particular, F&F played a quick tempo game in the first half which was rewarded with 2 goals by Abby and Hamka. In the second half, F&F tried to control their passing game and slowed the tempo down to conserve their energy for the next match.
F&F will play against Black Emperor in the semi final on the 30th of April(Thursday).

Match Preview: Flames to test Spirulina
Fire&Flames VS Spirulina FC
MMU Field Kickoff:1745
After a dodgy team effort in their last match against Lanun Rombak FC, F&F will be looking to improve on their gameplay today against Spirulina FC at the MMU Field. F&F were too complacent in midfield and their whole system of play was marred by poor first touch and inability to stay calm under pressure like they usually do. But manager Samir Aie who has stayed out of the spotlight in recent weeks aims to put an end to that.
Aie was quoted saying " We have been working on it all week. I have prepared the players well for this match and they will be raring to go to show what they can do."
Flames will welcome back utility man, Eski Raul after a week of absence on sabbatical leave. Eski was blessed last week with his new born, Eusoff Eskandarian.
"He just a joy to watch. Sometimes I couldn't take my eyes off him even just for a while." Eski said when asked about his crown jewel last week.
Meanwhile, F&F is caught up in another transfer saga as "Bedak", who is supposed to be their latest acquisition during the winter transfer window, was held up by the FA. He was reported to have missed his flight last week but that wasn't the case at all. The issue digs further as "Bedak" failed to get his work permit done in time for F&F last match due to the FA's questioning of who actually owned his rights. "Bedak" was previously playing for an Indian club but there were irregularities in his documentation that forced the FA to investigate the matter further. Manager, Samir Aie will be hoping that the saga be sorted out immediately.
F&F has no other injury concern as they head on for this crunch quarter final match against Spirulina. Samir Aie and Abby will have to be assessed just before the game to make sure they are fit. Boynaldo is still feeling the niggling knee injury he picked up years ago but should be fit for todays' match. FerdiNadeem who had a week rest on the doctors' order will also be fit for the match and are set to boost the defence with his commanding presence.
With all the players ready and raring to go for the match today, the gaffer, Samir Aie will have a headache on the team selection. FerdiNadeem and Nabeelja Vidic should keep their places while Eski Raul will be back swinging on the flanks. Sohaib 'Karembeu' will sit in front of the defence once more and will be hoping that he can produce the type of performance he did against Lanun Rombak FC. Zul Rossi should keep his place safe after an unimpressive showing in the last match. The rest of the position remains in question as Samir Aie tinkers with his teams' ability to adapt.

Match Report: F&F Through to Quarter Finals...
The weather was windy and sunny, but the pitch was not completely dry and F&F went into this match with only 2 subs available at the bench and without playmaker and skipper Samir Aie.
Aie was diagnosed with a minor hamstring strain and fever but managed to give instructions to the team from the bench and Abby out with a thigh injury. Eski Raul, still on his sabbatical leave and new signing, "Bedak"'s flight was delayed from India causing him to miss his debut.
Man of the match, Sohaib Karembeu impressed everyone again with his stunning strike with his left foot 10 minutes into the match. That was his first ever goal for the club. The match then seems to be F&F's domination but Lanun Rombak FC does not give up, instead they created problems into F&F's defence by rocketing long balls towards F&F's goal area.
Azim "Pelekat", was a surprised inclusion into the team after he recovered from hairline fracture to his foot. Azim was busy sweeping the Pirates long ball away from his goal area throughout the match. F&F didn't not play their normal game as the midfielders failed to control the match but the whole team was rushing to get the second goal. F&F's injury list increased as Ferdinadeem suffered a back strain after taking a free kick and was substituted minutes before the half time whistle was blown.
Zul K "Takut Lipas" came in for Ferdinadeem to partner with Nabeelja Vidic for the first time this season. Late in the 1st half, F&F nearly doubled their lead when Nadom Onuoha's free kick was parried by the goalie. Det-co was introduced in the 2nd half to take Reza's place. The Pirates changed their tactics by attacking on the left side through Imaninho, and which frustrated Det-co, whose lacking match fitness n pratices was booked after making two succession fouls.
Stand-in captain Boynaldo and Nadom Ouoha started on the flanks have failed to provide decent crosses for the Zul Rossi. However, late in the second half a counter attack from F&F nearly killed the game for the Pirates but Zul K "Takut Lipas"'s shot was was saved by the goalie.
F&F needs to improve their game play against Spirulina in the quarter finals. F&F's ex players, Fatah van der Vaart and Fauzan "Makan Tanah" was among the spectators and expressed their view from the match by saying F&F lacks flames from last season.

Azim "Pelekat" clarifys his nickname
In a recent interview with talkshow host, Jay Leno yesterday, Azim made a startling statement to clarify why he is being touted as Azim "Pelekat".
Fans are confused on why Azim was called Pelekat as one rumor say that it is because he can catch the ball to his hands like glue. That wasn't the case as he actually got he nickname after a game inwhich he let in a goal right through his legs. That goal proves to be a friendly joke among the squad saying that he should wear a 'kain pelikat' ( a traditional Malay clothing worn like a long skirt) so that he wouldn't let in such goals. The rumor certainly got twisted after it was spread out from mouth to mouth and Azim took his chance to clarify the situation when talking to Jay Leno.
"I enjoy the confusion that the nickname brings me as I can joke about it with my teammates and when the fans ask me why I was called "Pelekat", I can say that the ball sticks like glue to me" Azim said when asked about his proverbial name calling by funnyman Leno.
Azim is currently on a race with fitness and could play in todays' match against Lanun Rombak FC. The question on everyones mind is could he recapture the form he was in before he got the hairline fracture to his foot.
When talking on a more serious note with Leno, Azim said "I am currently working very hard to get ready for the game. As a passionate member of the team, of course I would want to contribute to the team as a whole. The injury has set me back a little but I'm sure everything will follow through."

Match Preview: Pirates Prepare for Hell
Fire&Flames VS Lanun Rombak FC
MMU Field Kickoff:1745
After seeing Dettol FC and CyberHeat progress to quarter final stage, pressure will be on F&F as Group D leader to win this match. Pity for Phlamze who lost in a penalty shootout to BlackEmperor after managing to stage a comeback from 2-0 down to drag the match into penalties.
Bad news for F&F as the injury list worsens, with skipper Samir Aie a major doubt over his hamstring strain and latest casualty, Abby, injured his thigh during Futsal TM Selangor training but he will undergo a last minute fitness test. Eski "Raul", still in joyous mood after his first child was born last Friday, will most probably play a part in the match as F&F are short of players. Zul K is back in the line up after being suspended for picking up 2 bookings and a new target man known as Bedak is set to be unleashed by the skipper.
Goalie Saiber "Reina" has rejected the contract offer from F&F because of his demand for a permanent transfer at the end of the season has been denied by F&F official. This means, unhappy Nadom "Onuoha" will have to put in the gloves back to guard the goalpost for F&F today. That also could change as Azim "Pelikat" nears fitness after a lengthy spell in the sidelines. Samir Aie is expected to change the line up because due to injuries, with Zul "Rossi" switching to left flank and Zul K "Takot Lipas", Sohaib "Karembeu" and Hamka "Beng-ho" will be at the heart of the midfield.

Saiber "Reina" To Replace Azim "Pelekat"?
Just two days before F&F's second round match against Lanun Rombak FC, skipper Samir Aie has decided to loan Saiber "Reina", the experienced goalie with an outstanding resume to replace long term injury Azim "Pelekat".
Saiber, a former goalie for Kayu FC currently belong to 2008 MMU Champions League Finalist, SDX FC which did not participate in the competition because of financial and sponsors problems. Most of the players have been loaned out including Ferdinadeem and Zul K. The rest of SDX FC players are now playing for Lanun Rombak FC for this season. Saiber held the number 1 jersey for MMUFC for nearly 4 years.
However, Saiber is yet to put his John Hancock on the paper and negotiation still at early stage. Nadum Onuoha had a discussion with Samir Aie after the match against CyberHeat where he suggested F&F should sign a goalie because he does not enjoy playing at that position and wants to play in the outfield position.

Ferdinadeem: No Go For F&F's Managerial Post
In the recent rumors about who will be the next gaffer for F&F, Ferdinadeem has responded by saying "I want to focus and improve my game on the field rather than being a player/manager again. I have won every tournament there is in MMU and now I want to win the Best Defender Award." Last season's MMU Cup, Ferdinadeem nearly won the Golden Boot Award with Boy P but his goal in the final was wrongly flagged for offside by the linesman.
Ferdinadeem was invited to Old Trafford by S.A Ferguson after
retiring as Kayu FC manager.
When asked to comment about Bob Sepang-yol he said "He is a good manager, communicates well with young players and excellent with transfer negotiations. But he has not win anything yet, I am sure the lads want someone with proven track record to manage them." It will be a tough mission for Flames Football Federation’s (FFF) to find replacement as most of the managers in MMU are still rookie and not par with Ferdinadeem's track record.

Who Will Be The Next Coach Of F&F?
The hunt for the man who will take over Samir Aie's shoe as the gaffer of F&F continues...
Negotiating your way through the minefield that is the Flames Football Federation’s (FFF) selection for the next team coach is like dealing with the nightmare Bandung traffic – just when you think you are getting somewhere, you turn a corner and it all starts again.
As everyone knows, Samir Aie will retire, as this season will be his last one and the whole team are really pushing for the title as a token of appreciation for his leadership and capability on and off the field. Currently F&F are top of their qualification group and already qualify for the knock out stages.
The identity of the next coach seems to grow less clear by the hour.
MMUFootball.com takes a quick look at the main candidates but would also like to point out that the FFF, seemingly caught in two minds or more, is more than capable of appointing a coach that few had thought of.
The Candidates
BOB Sepanyol
For: He is Portuguese and he has worked for Sepanyol, then perhaps it could work for F&F. He has experience in MMU Football League and is currently in charge of Sepanyol. Since arriving at the club, he has managed to introduce a sense of calm and stability into what was a chaotic situation. He has also been doing relatively well so far in the Champions League.
Nadeem Shah
For: Experience. Not only was he the coach for Kayu Fc back at the 2004-2007 MMU League, he has seen everything there is to see in MMU football and even led the Kayu Fc for a while.
Against: He’s old and at 25, does he have the energy to go jetting around the giant continent with games in the space of ten days?

Know Da Players: Nabeel Ghazi
Nabeel Ghazi a.k.a Nabeelja Vidic is a quiet on and off the pitch but he can be quite cheeky off the pitch with his charming face and bulky body structure. This lad enjoys traveling around the world when he gets the opportunity to do so.
Nabeelja, like most of the players in F&F squad is a die Man Utd fan, enough said there. He was introduced to MMU football when his agent, Nadia Khairi requested Ferdinadeem, then was the player/manager of the legendary Kayu FC team to give him a trial with the club and he did not disappoint anyone. He won MMU League and FA Cup with the team and later on transferred to Team Boy where he helped them gained promotion to 2nd Division.
Although this is his first season with F&F, he has settled in swiftly within the squad which full with familiar faces from his time at Kayu FC and reunited with his partner, Ferdinadeem in defence. It is known that Boynaldo and Ferdinadeem had put in good words for him to skipper Samir Aie when he was looking for a stopper. Since his debut against SDX FC in an exhibition match, he has cemented his place in the first team and was one of the key players after the match against CyberHeat.
He is the type of player who does not show any emotion on the field but he is a good marker. Even though he lacks speed and seldom jumps into tackle, its hard for the strikers to get him off their backs. Since his Kayu FC days, he has improved vastly in his jumping, header and awareness.

Azim 'Pelekat' Frustrated by Injury
It is heart-breaking for Azim to sit out a game at the stands because of injury to watch his team playing and winning for the first time this season. To make matter worst for the lad is that he will be doing this for the whole season. "It was by far the best performance F&F has performed this season and how unlucky for me not to be playing." Azim speaking to John Dykes from ESPN Sports Center.
Azim was cheering for F&F from the stands to give moral support to his team mates. The referree even had to calm him down as he was thought to be one of the substitute. Flames provide the Heat
The match against CyberHeat yesterday was a carbon copy of the encounter with Phlamze which was a physical game and the ball was played at the middle of the park at most of the time. But this time, a goal was scored and F&F was the winner and they lead Group D.
"A sweet victory after a hard work from all the players"said F&F skipper Samir Aie with a jolly face. He was astonished with the improvement within the team because the last match they played was nearly a month ago. Aie made a last minute signing of Algerian international Sohaib Karembeu and threw him straight into starting line up as defensive midfielder.
CyberHeat were playing well with their technical ability but their attacks were mostly ruined by F&F's offside trap and the tactic frustrated CyberHeat's attackers. Jerry, the former Dettol FC player did tried his best to create chances with his killer ball and managed to penetrate F&F's defence by his solo effort but stand-in goalie Nadom Onuoha's quick thinking saved the day for F&F.
F&F's goal came in the 2nd half when they were awarded a free kick because the CyberHeat's defender was judged by the referee to deliberately smacked the ball using his hand. Hamka took a powerful free kick straight to the goalie which he only managed to parry it. Zul Rossi playing lone striker, headed in the rebound and it proved a vital goal for F&F. CyberHeat changed their formation by deploying 4 strikers to get back into the game and it almost worked but again was spoiled by the off side trap.
Ferdinadeem gifted a free kick to CyberHeat when he was judged to handle the ball few yards outside the penalty box however CyberHeat did not take full advantage of the free kick when Jerry shot it wide. 2 debutants, Eski Raul and Sohaib Karembeu played well in the 2nd half and showed that they are worth the money.F&F will play against the winner of Group C last match between Lanun FC and Genki Noob in the 2nd round of MMU Champions League next week.

Heat wave for struggling Flames
Fire&Flames VS CyberHeat
MMU Field Kickoff:1745
It has been a long break for F&F players since their last match against Dettol FC. Today will be the last match for the so-called Group of Death in MMU Champions League between F&F and CyberHeat. CyberHeat top the group with 7 points when they defeated Phlamze 1-0 where as F&F in 3rd position with 5 points. F&F need to win this match to top the group but if F&F draw or lose by 1 goal, they will remain at the same position. In other words, today's match will decide the leader of the group.
Most of the players are lack match practices because their last match was nearly a month ago and in that period Azim 'Pelekat' has suffered a fractured metatarsal bone in his right ankle during a futsal tournament in Prima Avenue which the team comprising Zul Rossi,Samir Aie,Boynaldo,Nadom Onuoha,Ferdinadeem,Fauzan "Makan Tanah" and Zul Terry emerged as 1st runner ups. Nadom Onuoha and Ferdinadeem were in Bandung,Indonesia to negotiate a contract for next season with FactoryOutlet FC during the weekend. Both the brothers decided to reject the contract which took 4 days to negotiate because they were not happy with terms that had been offered.
With Azim out for the season Nadom will be guarding the post because he was an experienced goalie before joining F&F. Nadom held the no.1 jersey for 2 years in MMU Unileague team and was part of the team that won Unileague 2nd Division title. Ferdinadeem will deputize him if Nadom suffer any injury preventing him from playing that position. Eski Raul will make his long waited debut today and could be handed the right wing position while Zul Rossi will be push to a lone striker role.
