Proud Azim "Pelekat" refusing to get carried away

F&F might have gone more than 4 matches without conceding a goal in all competitions since the establishment of F&F but a proud Azim “Pelekat” believes the title is still far from won and rather than rest on his laurels insists: "It is time to kick on".

0-0 result from the first MMU Champions League match against Phlamze, not only saw them having kept the clean sheet for more than 300 minutes in 5 matches since their first match against SDX FC last season, but also unbeaten in all competitions.

Azim “Pelekat” has now claimed a MMU record for the longest amount of time without conceding a goal, with the seasoned Jawanese sure to keep the F&F defence on their toes when Dettol FC head to DragonForce Stadium, the home of F&F on March 18.

''The record is a great motivation for the players, particularly Azim,'' said Samir Aie. ''He has everyone jumping out of their skin at the moment.'' Azim also quote “It has been all about team work, without it F&F would not be crowned the MMU Cup champion. With Ferdinadeem commanding the defence, it makes me confident and my job as a goalkeeper easier.”

Azim got into the football stardom when his was signed by Ferdinadeem to play for the Legendary Star-studded team, Kayu FC which conquered most of the competitions in MMU during 2004-2007. His form back then was inconsistent but enough to impress MMU Coach, Faizal “Botak”.

Since been dropped from MMU team, Azim played as centre back for Sepang-nyol in his short stint. He started to play his ideal position again when he was signed by Aie to play for F&F and it proved a vital decision to make his mark again in the campus stage.

“I have nothing to prove to anyone because I want to enjoy my time playing football and I want to announce my decision to retire from MMU team to concentrate on club competitions.”, Azim talking to press conference when he was unveiled as F&F goalkeeper.
